Overview

Join us for lively, improvisational flamenco at Santa Barbara Historical Museum as part of our Flamenco! Santa Barbara music education program. Dancers, flamenco enthusiasts and anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of the art form will enjoy this casual event (with vino!).

Artists leading this experience:

Award winning Manuel Gutierrez has enjoyed a prolific career, headlining flamenco festivals in Spain, Albuquerque, Los Angeles and throughout the world. The Telegraph in London called his work “Fiery" and Figarro raved “The dance is strong, voluptuous, and spectacular... a profound type of Flamenco and incredibly explosive.”

Andres Vadin’s talent spans genres while highlighting the flamenco guitar as a universal instrument with no boundaries. He graduated from the Guillermo Tomas and Almadeo Roldan Conservatory in Habana, Cuba and his worldwide career has included collaborations on Latin Grammy-nominated albums.

...and friends!

Flamenco! Santa Barbara Artistic Director

Artistic Director María Bermúdez is a world-renowned artist. She has exposed audiences across the world to the unique style and sound of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain — recognized as the birthplace of Flamenco and in 2021, she was named Ambassador of Flamenco by her adopted city. She leads the artistic and educational endeavors of Flamenco! Santa Barbara.
